Getting hitched on Halloween is a sure fire way to make certain that your wedding day will always be remembered! And whether you choose to go all out when embracing the spookiness of this annual holiday or opt for a softer and more subtle approach, you can always count on Hog Roast Antrim to deliver a splendid menu plan that matches the tone of the occasion.
In recent years, our caterers have witnessed a growing number of brides and grooms tying the knot on All Hallows Eve, and this year, we had the privilege of assisting Robyn and Liam with their nuptials.
This Halloween-loving bride and groom had chosen a ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ theme for their special day, which was a first for our Hog Roast Antrim team! Our catering manager, Jamie, was so excited to take part in this unique celebration and was delighted to be able to help the couple sort out their menu and venue in one easy phone call.
Robyn and Liam had asked to use one of our partner venues for the occasion, which made the planning process much smoother and simpler for them both since Hog Roast Antrim handled all correspondence on their behalf. The only thing this couple had to worry about was finding unique props for the event and sending out the invites.
After months and months of planning this elaborate affair, Robyn and Liam’s big day finally went ahead on Monday – and it’s a day Hog Roast Antrim won’t be forgetting anytime soon!
The reception hall, where our team prepared a three-course meal with additional canapés and drinks, had been decked out with pumpkins, red and black roses and Jack Skellington skulls. Even the wedding cake featured the iconic cartoon couple, and a cardboard cutout of the famous Spiral Hill was placed behind Liam and Robyn’s table.
The guests at this wedding fully welcomed the unusual theme, with many opting to wear dark colours and accents that matched the tone of the event.
Once everyone had picked up a glass of bubbly, munched through the canapés and had found their seats, Hog Roast Antrim served the soup starter, followed by a buffet, which offered a choice of either our traditional hog roast, whole roasted sirloin of English beef or grilled veggie skewers with a selection of inclusive sides.
The meal went down a storm and ended with profiteroles and chocolate torte, followed by a slice of wedding cake.
