Northern Ireland really doesn’t do things by halves when it comes to wedding venues. Castles, country estates, historic old halls tucked away down winding lanes – couples getting married here are properly spoiled for choice. Set deep in the countryside, surrounded by nothing but rolling green fields for as far as you can see, this place manages to feel relaxed and rustic while still keeping that touch of elegance you want on your big day. One couple recently fell for it completely, choosing it as the backdrop for their wedding. All that was missing was a feast worthy of the setting – which is exactly where Hog Roast Bangor came in.
With 47 guests to feed, the brief was simple: keep it laid-back, keep it delicious. Our Gourmet BBQ Menu ticked every box. The team got stuck in early, hand-forming beef burger patties from premium British free-range meat, smoking them low and slow on the grill until they were properly juicy, then piling them onto soft rolls with melted cheese and fried onions. Butcher’s-style sausages joined the grill too – thick, meaty, packed with flavour – alongside Thai-style chicken kebabs and sticky spareribs that had people licking their fingers before they’d even finished the first bite.
Meat-eaters were in their element, but they weren’t the only ones enjoying themselves. Two proper meat-free options meant nobody was left picking at the sides, and speaking of sides – Hog Roast Bangor made sure there were plenty of those to go round too. Creamy gourmet coleslaw with a hint of lemon, a hearty pasta salad loaded with fresh veg, and freshly cooked sweet potato and classic fries served with salt, vinegar, and a few Sauce Shop favourites rounded everything off nicely.
By the end of the night, the verdict was unanimous – the guests couldn’t get enough of what Hog Roast Bangor had to offer, with many of them coming back for seconds (and in some cases, thirds) before the last plate was cleared.
