Your Wedding, Your Rules – This Couple Chose a Hog Roast Downpatrick BBQ and It Was Perfect!

Hog Roast Northern IrelandSomewhere along the way, weddings picked up a script. You know the one – the traditional venue, the three-course dinner, the slightly too-long gap between the ceremony and the food while everyone mills around with a luke-warm glass of prosecco. It’s fine. It works. But it’s not the only way to do it, and more couples are starting to realise that.

Your wedding day is yours. The where, the when, the how – all of it is up for grabs, and if the traditional sit-down dinner isn’t really your thing, there’s absolutely no rule that says you have to go there.

Hog Roast Downpatrick’s most recent clients knew exactly what they wanted for their big day, and a BBQ was it. Ninety guests, a relaxed and celebratory atmosphere and a spread that gave everyone something to get genuinely excited about – that’s what they were after. No awkward silences waiting for the next course, just people filling their plates, finding a spot and getting stuck in.

As always, this menu had plenty going on to make sure everyone was properly taken care of. Handmade British beef burgers that were seriously juicy and meaty in the way only homemade ones manage to be, succulent butcher’s sausages, Thai chicken kebabs and slow-roasted pulled pork rolls stuffed with sage and onion stuffing and applesauce. Before we knew it, guests were swapping opinions and recommendations across the table before confidently refilling their empty plates – always a good sign.Hog Roast Northern Ireland

Veggie and vegan guests weren’t stuck watching all the fun from the sidelines either. Hog Roast Downpatrick’s grilled vegetable kebabs with optional halloumi chunks gave them a genuinely tasty option, and the sides made sure every plate could be rounded out to suit each individual guest. Between the seasonal green leaf salad, pasta salad, herby new potatoes, coleslaw and classic fries, every base was covered without the spread feeling cluttered or overwhelming.

The day ended with a room full of satisfied guests, two very happy newlyweds and a whole lot of empty plates (we swear some were even licked clean). And that’s what Hog Roast Downpatrick is all about –  we’re not here to pressure couples into a rigid dining plan, but to help them find the version of their day that actually fits. We’re honoured to have been part of this one.
